If you actually think they loved each other....i think Aerith was looking ino the love between them and Tifa...so not a love story anyway lol.
I don't know...I realise its hard to other games that aren't RPG to have romance ut what about Mario LOL.

I'd have to say FFVIII. Even though I think it was more based on Friendship, I think it was based on love for the latter part of the game.
The love contained no real character development. I mean Squall loved RInoa but he still acted like a jerk to everyone else lol. When its like that I barely see it as romance....especially the way it ended.

the best mostest old school romance game would be Super mario, OMG it was about a guy constantly saving his B****, how is that not a romance? he risks life and limb to rescue his love from an evil Dragon/cooper.

XD mario was the ultimate romance game XD jk. it wasnt the best..but it was the original. and if were talking about games that make you actualy feel things... then im gonna have to go with ff9. it was pretty good. FF8 made me feel something though...depression and emo T_T
Again Mario was not meant to be a romance game it was the romance was already done and he was just trying to protect her. I mean, there was no real connection when you saw them together.
Ten was really romantic with the whole water scene. Kingdom Hearts is great, but disney won't ever allow their kh followers to see any type of romance that the FF series has seen. Any games out there other than Square owned?
