Burton to direct film version of Sweeney Todd

So i'm surfing through the net one day and i see something about Tim Burton directing a film version of one of the greatest and disturbing broadway musical of all time, Sweeney Todd. Apparently Johnney Depp is supossed to play the Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
