It seems kinda unbalance. And with the newest version of vbulletin, you can take/give as much of your rep power as you want. Plus, there's the problem of people being upset every time they lose rep, so maybe there need to be some new rules too.

I was thinking of resetting everyone's rep, but I don't think that's really a good idea. Still, something has to be done.

So what should be changed? And what rules should be created (or more well enforced)?

<div class='quotetop'>(Zayne.H;18841)</div><div class='quotemain'>Lets balance it by giving 100 to everyone (Might make them come back..) and then making new rules.</div>

Nah... I don't think it would make anyone come back. If they aren't here now, then they probably don't give a crap about their rep anyway. But I can give rep to people that DO come back... Not quite that much though.

And what should the rep rules be changed to...?
Here are the current rules
http://www.gamersforums.net/mega/forum-new...reputation.html

Also, we might need to make other separate rules, like
"You must provide a reason even when giving rep" or...
"Do not ask me who gave you bad rep." OR....
"If you get bad rep for an invalid reason, then tell me, but I won't reveal the other person's name"
and stuff like that...

mabye you need to use the adminCP and look at what people are giving rep for.. and if it's something stupid.. take the ep off. I've seen people rep for no reason.. or some people have said Hey you reped me.. so i have to rep you back right away!

Yeah I know. I've done that. I just haven't been enforcing some of the rep rules I originally set. Originally, you were supposed to give a reason, even for good rep... and no reason meant it would be deleted. But I relaxed the rules... I guess too much.

thats why many forums don't use rep at some point because people break rules.. and no one really can do anything about it.. so it really depends.. if you have many admins, it's not to bad cuz they can moderate reps

It's not a matter of whether I could do it or not.... I was just being too lenient by relaxing the rules. :weird:

This topic is sorta outdated now, but I'll soon setup the karma system, which is just like reputation, I believe. I don't think it's like GameFAQs karma.
