I ordered an external 2.5" hard drive enclosure, which arrived today. When I unscrewed the first two screws and took the hard drive out of my dead laptop, there were two more sets of screws of different sized holding a damned bracket onto of the thing! I unscrewed one set, but couldn't get the other. Now I have to wait till tomorrow to get my files back since the other screwdriver is hidden in the garage... where there's no room to move cause the car is in there.

And hopefully I didn't ruin anything while I was going crazy wondering why the screws wouldn't come out. Seriously, what the hell?! Why three different sizes of screws? Just to piss people off?

>_> jiggly HD is bad, even desktops have brackets with 1 or 2 sets of screws to hold the HD in. Laptop HD is even thinner, so I could see 3 sets, even if it is a bit overkill; better to keep the hdd nice and steady.

XD

but yeah, I can see what you mean about it making more sense that they'd be the same size, but you just can't put the same size hole in anything; they're smaller sizes on smaller parts because a larger hole could be a weaker stress/fracture point. You have to consider that when they craft things for a laptop they take more than what's considered " necessary precaution "; the point of this computer is to be moved around, mobile, portability, so you shouldn't expect it to be screwed in by 2 gigantic flatheads. <_<

Well.... it didn't make a difference. I have the right screwdriver now, but the damned screws still won't move an inch!

Shit..0_o this reminds me of when I first got my fliptop mod for my PS2, and I couldn't get it open(even though PS2 has all same size screws, they're just tiny as FUCK). It took me a while but I Finally got them out. I'm not really sure what to reccomend to you >_>

Had to use a drill to get the heads off the screws!  Good thing I don't need to put it back in the other laptop! I'm getting all my stuff back right now!
