GP: Extras

The fourth in the series. This time i'd like to talk about contests and vB Hacks. Some contests i was thinking of were refferal contests, 7th heaven games contests (as in who posts the most), SB contests, all that kind of stuff. Also, i'd like to see the vB Pager back. What do you guys want to see on the site?

you shoudl make monthly awards, such as "coolest member", ect.

dude i told you we tryed that in the past, it tured out to be alot of work doing one a month

Yeah it really would be quite a lot of work....trying every single month...

we do it yearly...lol at the end of the year.

He does have a point though...Maybe we don't do them often enough. Maybe we could do them once every 6 months rather then a year. That wouldn't be as much work as one a month, Plus we would have 6 months to make any preparations that we needed to make. That is more then enough time.

6 months is better, but would it be enough time on the forums to actaully make a difference in the voting? just saying


instead of a whole bunch of awards in a month, why don't we do like 1 award a month, like a really stupid pointless award just for laughs?

Someone needs to fix up the arcade, at the moment it's not working. Also make vBPlaza more interesting, we can already do everything that we can buy (excluding immunities)

some of the games in the arcade has been working for me. And some of them don't. But I would say the awards should be every 6 months or 4 months. Once a year is not much at all. And 6 months is better but can still seem pretty long.

mm well if we were going to shorten it, i would probably go with about 6 months. A few months is enough to make a difference, 6 is plenty. 4 would just be maybe two short. I say we have it twice a year, once every six months. That is long enough to make a difference but short enough to wait on to role around. Also it gives the staff plenty of time to work on whatever it may be. Be it prizes, awards, or whatever.

And as for the one month idea would there really be a point to that? just giving out some random award every month that doesn't really mean anything? wouldn't it just sort of be a waste of time? But then again i guess i see where you are coming from on that. It would hold the members over until the main awards were presented.

I just got an idea now.. what if we have 1 or 1-3 stars (members) of the month. Basically we look at WHO the most valuable member is for the month, how they've improved and helped GP. And the person with the stars per a month will win an award when the awards take place.

Kinda like hockey where they have #1 star and its like

#1star = 30 pts
#2star = 20 pts
#3star = 10 pts

So all the points add up after each month if ur top 3

so every month we'd pick 3 people for the stars, and then when the award come along will add up the stars and that'll pick the winner?

Uhm dunno whether its a good idea but what about competitions? Like riddles, graphics etc. where the members could win those stars as well?

some what yeah... but stars have points.. 1st start has like 30 pts 2nd 20 pts etc...

Which means if someone came 3rd and then 3rd again while someone who ame 1st and then didn't even make it to the stars list... the person who came 3rd could win. If you need more details look at how nhl.com does it..

We've has competitons.. problem was running them, we didn't and I still believe we don't have people who can or are wanting to run them....

ya that is the problem, but since there not alot of members active posting and stayin around makes the competitions kinda of pointless and won't attract new members. we figure out how to get newer or get old member to come back will slove the problem

since when did Fusion-X come back? Nvm.....welcome back and hopefully you can help us bring GP back to its former glory....i'm a little curious about what happened with the 2006 GP awards...

yeah we did.. but it didn't go as well as I planned it... so hopefully 2007 GP awards will be better planned.
