How much hard drive space do you use?

My brother is trying to convince my dad to get us an Xbox 360 for Christmas. (Even though I'd rather wait to see if the price goes down or they release a new version)

Is 20GB enough? It doesn't seem worth it to download full Xbox 360 games (unless they're download only). And downloading movies seems stupid too (cause they're probably expensive.... for damn file!).... having a hard copy is usually better. (Unless it's something that was downloaded for free.

Is it really worth it to get the Elite instead, or would I never use all that space?

And why is the Xbox 360 the only console without included internal wifi or an SD card slot?

ODN.

Anyway, my brother decided to get an opinion from someone at school. His friend at school told him the same thing I did. So he's okay with getting the 20GB Xbox 360.

How much HD space do old Xbox games take? I can always buy used copies (the actual discs) somewhere instead of downloading them from Live, right? And how much space do other games take? (ones that weren't Xbox games)

Also, how do you get a Zephyr/Falcon chip instead of the original? I've heard they're slightly better.

For the Zephyr/Falcon chip question, I'd go on Ebay or go to a local Ebgames/Gamestop to find it. For the usage space, Halo 1 took up around 1.2 GB of space, and Halo 2 took up, I'd say, around the same amount of space, but just a tiny bit more than Halo 1. But with the 20 GB (meh, I needed the bigger space) it shouldn't worry you too much. Just on my old xbox 360 launch box, Halo 1 took up around 10 MB, and Halo 2 559 MB.

I'd go with the 20 GB, in any case, if you want it.

I don't think I'd trust getting a used 360 from Ebay... how would the warranty even work with that?

And... I messed up.... the new chips are Falcons and the old ones are Zephyr.

My HD is getting close to full.

I got a 120GB HD for 360. I install all my games to disc so they run faster, produce less heat and less wear and tear on my discs.

I might look into the 250GB HD.

I'm waiting for MS to throw out some 500 GB or 1TB drives... that would be sweet!
