I can't get Knoppix to start in 1024x768 resolution on my laptop. It starts in 640x480 every time. I tried screen=1024x768, but that didn't work. I tried fb1024x768 and that didn't work either. I also get a message when I start it up...
<div class='codetop'></div><div class='codemain'>You passed an undefined mode number. Press [Return] to see video modes available or press [spacebar] to continue.</div>
I've tried Knoppix versions 3.4 and 5.0.1, but they both give the same problem. Any ideas? :(
How do I find my monitor's hsync and vsync? I think that might be what I need to fix this, though I don't know for sure.

I don't know. I'm not exactly sure how to find it. Someone on Gamefaqs said I'd need to check the manufacturer's specifications.

I think I may have found the real problem. I have an Intel 82830M Graphics Controller. However, the solution to this problem is slightly confusing to me.

And I lost respect for Intel after reading that. They lie and withhold information.
