Note: This is my attempt to write a romance story. It might be a bit juicy, and sexual. Just so you know

Prologue:
Waverly stands on the edge of the cliff. Her green eyes, searching, as they contrast hey little brown skin. She was reminiscing about her summer, and how it is ending. How she must return to her home, with her maid, to be flattered by available bachelors, promising love. How could she love when she had found it on this little island, in the arms of a fallen nobleman's son. How scandalous, it would be....

Chapter 1.

"I'm going to Reiano this summer," Olivia bragged, "Maybe i will sample the delights of the city." she finish scadalously. "I'm going to Lombym. Grandmother needs a companion," Selina said sullenly. "Boring. Dont you think thats such a bore?" Juana commented. "What are you doing this summer Waverly?" Olivia asked.

Waverly was strong willed. She was the only child and Carlos and Tyleya Vendega. Both died about a year ago and she inheired their fortune. She a most sought after woman in the country. Not just by sons, but by widowers as well. Her beauty didnt help much either. She had many suitors but none of them interested her.

"I'm going to Moina. My father's Isle. I plan work on my art and also get a break from these society restrictions." Waverly answered. "You can't go there. Its so boring and there are alot of Veron there." Olivia exclaimed.

Veron were the lighter skinned of the Continent. Saron's were the darker skinned. Though all were considered equal, they never mixed. Waverly's mother and father were and exception. Being that both were mixed she came to have the same coloring as they did. A lighter brown then most Saron's.

"And?" Waverly asked. "Dont get mixed with them? Thats my advise." Selina brashly commanded. "I dont plan to mix. I plan to concentrate on myself. I'm am not interested in marrying." Waverly said dismissively. "And if the right man comes along and says the right thing? Granted you might not marry. But sex can come into the picture." Olivia said, like a teacher. "You sound like your an expert in such matter, Livi." Waverly said laughing. Olivia blushed. "Thats what i hear." she said quickly. "Girls. What are you talking about?" Mrs. Senilio asked, nosily. She was entertaining guest in her house and the girls happen to be in her drawing room. "Summer Holidays," Juana said. "I was a girl once you know." Mrs Selinio said as she drifted away. Being a widow, she was curious about much.

Chapter 2

Waverly left the party and went to her small estate, to get ready to leave. She sold her childhood home to live in my convient quarters. She wanted to get off to her solitute. "Maggie! Did you pack my slacks?" Waverly asked. "Its unseemly. But yes i did." Maggie said.
Maggie was 3 years older but she Waverly's best friend. Sometimes when they would go to a far country like Guavina or Fromta. Waverly would make Maggie pretend she was a highborn friend. Since they wore the same size as far as dresses goes, they both would pretend and prance like best friends. Even many highborn boys were fasinated with Maggie, or Margurita Ella Montega she named herself.

"All is packed. We just need to leave." Maggie explained coming down the stairs with the luggage. Waverly fixed her hat and walked towards the door and held it open for Maggie. "The doorman is suppose to do that." she protested. "He's loading up. And i have nothing to do but help." Waverly explained. Maggie walked out and gave the doorman the luggage. The horse man opened the carrage door and helped them both in. "Drive." Waverly commaned. "What are we going to do there?" Maggie asked. "I told you. I will retire and learn some things." Waverly said absent-mindedly.

They road from the city to ther country side. Maggie was reading a romance novel while, Waverly was watching farms roll by. "Maggie, how can you read that crap?" Waverly asked. "Your language? I like reading about love." Maggie gushed. "Its all a load of bollocks if you ask me." Waverly condemned. "Until you fall in love." Maggie said and continued reading.

After about 6 hour they finally got to the shores. "Omph. My bottom hurts alot. But at least the ride to the island is only a half hour." Waverly commented. They walked to the ferry. "Madan Vendega," the ferryman said. "Hello Pablo. I havent seen you since i was five." Waverly said, giving him a hug. "Waverly, control yourself!" Maggie nagged. "Its good to see you. Your place is in order." he said as he started to pull away from the shore.

The water here was clear. You could see schools of fish, and sometimes dolphins and whales. The air was clean and the sun was setting. If you looked out your could see men fishing with huge nets. "Oh how i missed it here!" Waverly exclaimed.

Finally they made it to the beach and they road through the island. Moina was about 200 miles wide, and 400 long. Carlos Vendega won it when he visited, at a game of poker. He had his accounts made so that the residents had enough of everything they needed to be confortable. This was a favorite spot for vacationers. Even those down on there luck in money, liked to come here to live until they could get back on there feet.

"Its just as lovely as the last time i saw it." Maggie exclaimed. The mansion was of Saron's architect. Stucco with red earthenware shingles on the roof.

They made it to the walk way, and walked into the mansion. "Waverly is that you?" Delia said as she was walking by. "We werent expecting you. But everything was ready just in case you were coming." She hugged Waverly and Maggie and took them upstairs to there rooms.

Chapter 4

Waverly was on the balcony that was off her room. She was looking out at the sea. It was full of blues and purples and tans. Her parent met on this island. Everyone said that Moina was a island of love. Waverly always laughed at that.

She left her room and explored the mansion. She hadn't been there in years. After seeing everything was in order, Waverly sat on the terrece. "Why did i come?" she asked herself. She didnt know she would be so bored. "Madam, you have some vistitors." a maid said. "Bring them here to join me." she said. After a few minutes two woman, humbley dressed, came to the terrace. "Would you ladies like something to eat?" Waverly asked. They looked at each other. "That would be nice Lady Vendega," one said. "Take a seat, how can i help you?" Waverly asked. One looked at the other. "My name is Maria, and this is Rina, and we have come to ask you. Well the mill we work at is owned by you but the man over us is unfair." Maria said. "Look at my hand's, M'Lady?" Rina asked. Waverly looked. It was bleeding. "Who is this man?" Waverly asked. She was fuming but she kept her composure. "Mr. Venez. He acts as he own's all. He has stayed in your mansion quite a few times. You new steward kicked him out." Maria said. "Go on as if you havent talked to me. I will handle this. I apologize and i will raise your pay %100 more than it is." Waverly said. "You are as kind as your mother. Your mother gave me my clothes, and helped my mother." Rina said. "Your father built out mill." Maria said.

Maria and Rina left. Waverly went inside the mansion. She went to the stables. She got a horse, Pumpkin and brought it to herself. She had called about 15 men who where good with a gun. They galloped to the mill.

Chapter 5

"Waverly!!!" Maggie yelled. Waverly stopped and turned around. As she did she saw her steward right out with the 15 men. "What?" Waverly said. "Its too dangerous for you. And it isnt lady like. "Who are you to tell me what i should and should not do. Though you are my friend dont forget what you are!" Waverly said in anger. "Waverly please. Just come in and drink your tea." Maggie begged. Waverly looked at Maggie. She had never been upset with her. But at the moment she had never been so furious with her. "If i keep looking at you i am liable to either slap you or say something that i will regret." Waverly said not looking away. She then turned her horse and road off.

She rode through the the island. Furious at everyone. It was getting dark. She got to a part where it was forest. She had never been there before.

"Come on pumpkin." she said. She rode on. After about an hour she heard strange noises. She was getting a little unconfortable. Then she heard a scream of some sort. She clicked her tougue and Pumpkin went to a run. She was so worried about everything that she didnt pay attention. A branch smacked her off her horse....

Coming in and out of conscience she saw the night sky and beyond it the moon. "Help," she said weakly. She saw a shadow of a human come into her view. It lit a match and she saw its eyes. His eyes were as green as hers. He was Veron, not Saron as she herself was. Finally without being able to stand it anymore she lost conscience.

Chapter 6

Waverly woke up to a simple but clean room. She wasnt home. She tried to get up but she struggled.

"I wouldn't do that if i were you." a voice said. She looked and noticed a man sitting off by the desk. His hair was down to his shoulder blade. He looked like a tall man. His hair was dark. "You took a pretty fall, and the smack in the face didnt help either." he finished. He voice was calming but firm. He rose from his seat and turned her way. His eyes was the first thing you noticed. His eyes was like, Waverly's. Emerald green. He stepped over towards her. He had a scar slightly over his eyes brow. Waverly wasnt sure to be scared or enthralled by him.

"You have a fever. I can't move you until it passes." he explained. He set his hand on her forehead. "So can you speak? You have a name?" he asked. "Waverly," Waverly said weakly. "Vendega? Your father and my father were best friends. Never thought i'd meet you." he said. He smiled slightly. "I'm Mateo Juarez." he explained.

Waverly nodded and closed her eyes. She heard him walk away. Then she heard him play the flute. A song. "What is that song?" she asked. He didnt answer until he finished. "Its about love. A Veron song." he said.

The next day she woke up. He, Mateo, was gone. She tried to get up. She was in alot of pain but she had to go home. She got out of bed. She took a few steps and fell. When Mateo returned, he saw her on the floor. He looked concerned and annoyed. He picked her up and put her back into bed. "As much as you want to leave, you can't. So stay here." he said frimly. "I need to go home." she said. "You will go home as soon as you better." he said.

She was stuck, like a prisoner.

Chapter 7

Waverly looked around. "I can't lie here all day!" she yelled. She was delerious. "I need a bath." she said. But no one heard her. She fell asleep

When she woke up he was hovering over her. He had a white shirt and tanned pants. His hair was pulled back. He also had a hat on. His eyes was piercing hers.

"I thought you departed from this life." he said slightly concerned. "I was only sleep for about 10 mins." she said. "More like 4 days." Mateo retorted. "And you need a bath. Unfortunatly this place has only a lake nearby. And so i will have to bathe you." he said resolutely. Waverly looked like she was going to scream. "Mind you Dona,Lady, if i were to take you as my own i would have done it long ago. I wont do anything to you that you won't consent to." Waverly looked into Mateo's eyes. "You knew Carlos?" she asked. "Actually my father knew him. I met him and Tyleya once. You were a baby." he said.

He was so reserved. It was startling. She struggled to sit up. He scooped her into his arms, and carried her out the door. Waverly's heart was beating fast. She never been touched by a man. The most was her hand but not carried. He carried her out of the house and to a lovely lake. It had a mountain in the distance, and trees covering around.

"This is my inheirantace. Your father gave it to mines. My father was disgraced by his father, and your father helped as much as he could." he said. He sat Waverly down and started to unbutton her shirt. "I can do it." she said politely, pushing his hands away. He looked confused but let her do as she will. He took his clothes off, all off them, and jumped in. Waverly closed her eyes. She was in the middle of nowhere with this man who she didnt know and he was naked in the water. She left her underclothes on and got up, stuggling, and waded into the water. He looked at her and shook his head. "What?" she asked. "Prissy, you always were." Mateo retorted. He swam towards her. "'So why were you riding in the forest alone?" he asked. "I was angry.."

Chapter 8

Mateo watched Waverly as she waded in the water. She was so adorable. Her skin was dark, but her eyes contrasted her skin. But you wouldn't see it if you didnt pay attention to her. Her long hair was wavy and curling around her shoulders and around her waist. It would have been a more erotic view if her clothes were off. But he remembered there cultures were different. Saron's were not open about things as Verons were.

"Why were you upset?" he asked, taking his mind off her body. She looked at him. "It doesnt matter..." she said thoughtfully. He approched her and took her hand. "What...Were..." Waverly sputtered. She looked confused. Mateo decided not to answer until she said, "I can't swim." He stopped. He put his arms around her. He swam with her in his arms towards the rocks on the other side of the lake. "The water is shallow here.. Clean yourself. And i'll be down that way." he pointed. There were soap and rags for her. He swam off. "Thank you." she said. He looked back. She was smiling at him. 'Waverly you shouldnt smile at me like that. I might lose myself in you.' he said silently to himself.
