Written by enigmax on June 04, 2007

A man who uploaded four episodes of the hit series ?24′ to a YouTube-style video hosting site has been tracked down by the FBI and is now being threatened with 3 years in a federal prison.</div>

The USA wastes money on stupid things when there are real problems in this country... I could name a ton of actual problems.
So this is just a huge waste of taxpayer money and FBI resources! And the punishment is extremely harsh! I know uploading something before it even airs is a very bad idea, but this is ridiculous. Is the USA trying to become China?!

WTF? That's bullshit. Uploading something that leaks before it actually airs is bad(doesn't happen often or with many shows at all though), but that guy should face only fines as punishment. Jailtime for uploading some video files to a website? US Government Status: Idiocracy ¬_¬. Unforunately for them, as the saying goes, when you take down one website, three similar ones come up to replace it. >:3(I know they didn't take down the website, just using that saying XD Heard it on IRC a while back)

Not to mention that sometimes (not always) being in prison makes someone want to become "more of a criminal".
Oh, and don't forget that taxpayers are paying for his prison sentence. Not the RIAA, of course.

A lot of the time being in prison will make you become more of a criminal. For one, let's use the simplest logic possible; when you throw a clean towel in a pile of dirty towels, the dirt is going to rub off on the sparkly clean towel. The clean towel essentially becomes one of the dirty towels. In jail you can learn so many different things about crime because the people you're around do that for a living and whatnot :p Then you take the logic of how you'd feel so wrongfully imprisoned, you'd obviously have a hatred for the state. Maybe you'd WANT to learn to steal a car, so when you got out of jail you could raise some more hell before you came backl ;3

Yeah, he should have waited till the episodes were shown first. Still, three years in prison is just not fair.
