Let me start off by saying I'm glad the debates board is finally up. Morals is something I can't really debate(poor white people don't have morals), but I'll try to give my best opinion.
From most standpoints(atleast to my understanding), Christianity was a pretty early basis for what was right and what was wrong. There had been ideas before, but Christianity lays it all out, what we should and should not do; you know, no adultery, no killing, that shit. Morals can be learned also from other media outputs, including movies and television shows, and even video games. Grand Theft Auto taught me never to allow a snitch to walk free
now
that's morally just. No, but being the type of person I am, a constant battle for me is moral vs. legal consequences, and the latter is normally worse than the former for me. I'm a heartless, soulless person and I'm beating bags of dead puppies against a fence right now to hear what kind of sound it makes.
People follow morals for a number of different reasons, one of the most influential probably being because it's what their parents instilled in them. A large percentage of the time, the child will have a lot of the same perspectives on things in life as the parent, and this(along with any form of media) can always give us a good idea on where we stand morally, because often going with our parents is an out we'll take over other things.
Well, I don't know where quite to conclude. Legal will always win in Moral Vs Legal for me, I guess that makes me of low morale or something? I'm just the type of person who isn't really worried how I feel or anyone else feels about my actions as long as I'm not locked up according to our own judicial system. I guess morals are like pride and honor; both great to have, but neither very necessary to existence. Tag
