PS3 Backwards Compatibility

Has anyone heard/confirmed if/how bad the BC will be on the new 80GB unit? Seeing as how we lose the EE chip, and go with straight emulation... This would be interesting.. because if you can't play older games.. then it kinda sucks.. especially if ur ps2 dies out..

Well we europeans didnt get this chip, and I can tell you its totally crap,out of 20 PS2 games, 2 worked for me.
Thats why I just sold everything.

They said you can download updates though so that more games work.

ah no wonder, well my cousin tried his games and I think pretty much all of them worked fine. That sucks.. for europeans.. not sure why they would sell a ps3 like that?
