Tomorrow is 9/11. The sad tragic day where the Twin Towers collapsed due to terrorists.

I was in my class (3rd grade in NJ) when suddenly everybody else starting going home early leaving me with a couple of students who where still there. When I had heard about it, I had no clue what had happened or what it meant but now as I grew older, I have a better understanding about it and it saddens me everytime I think about it.

My question: Where were you on that day?

Unlike most people around my age I wasn't in school. I actually missed the bus that day and decided to stay home. I didn't watch TV alot back then so I played Sega Dreamcast for about 30 mins until my mom called for my dad who wasn't home.

Mom: Why aren't you in school?!

Me: ... I missed the bus and I know I'd better not be home when you get here... >.>

Mom: No, make sure your borther stays home and keep everyone together, call your dad and let him know there has been an attack in N.Y.

Me: "Attack"? I'm sure people get robbed in N.Y. all the time.

Mom: Shut up, Smartass! Terrorists!

Me: Like... "Man your battle stations, this is the big one!" Attack?

Mom: ... Stay inside and make sure you can reach the phone.

To say the least I took the situation lightly until I turned on the TV and saw people jumping out of windows along with the replay of the first plane.

Me: Oh Shit!!

Lil' Brother: Wha...? Is this a movie?

Me: I wish...it was.

I was in my first grade class in Rockdale, Illinois. We turned on the news and watched the whole thing, then parents were called and we were sent home early. Apparently our principal had got some information, because by the time I got home, I know more about it than me mom.

I remember I was at home...then suddenly my mum came home and told me to turn on the TV straight away cause she had heard about it on the radio.
Then we saw live how the 2nd tower fell....

We had an english test the next day and I remember everyone being shocked at school and not able to concentrate on the test. Sad, sad, day.
