^ Very good article that pretty much sums up my opinion on the matter.

He was arrested and his house was searched. They found a hammer which they considered a potential terrorist weapon, but it was only there so he could fix his bed. The charges were dropped against the student, but he was removed from his school and placed in an "alternate education school". As a result of being moved to a different school, he loses most or all of his extra college credit. Oh, and he made this map way before the VT shootings had happened.

I predict Jack Thompson will say something stupid about this within the week.

WOW! Is that dumb or what? America is so dumb and screwed up at times. Didn't they found this country so we could have freedom? Its like they are taking it away in bits and peices.

I hate how they don't take into account the fact that they could be screwing up someone's plans for the future.... especially since there wasn't even any criminal or terroristic intent... it was simply a map in a game, nothing more. When I visited a school for a tour once, a student had made a map of the school for a video game... or a group of students (not sure how many people were involved in the project). But, the professor/teacher was sensible, plus the VT shootings hadn't happened yet, so people weren't quite as paranoid or ready to start a witch hunt.

Usually first/third-person shooters, usually... not always. Of course it was in this cause though, which is why he got into so much trouble.
