Vampires have been a part of history for centuries. Humans feared them because they fed on human blood, and vampires really didn't do much in trying to help their image. Humans started hunting the vampires to save their own kind. The war between humans and vampires continued on, and some hunters lost sight of their main goal. They started hunting vampires just for the thrill.
One hunter knew there had to have been another way. She didn't like killing vampires, but knew she had to do something to protect humans, without killing. She created a treaty between the vampires in her home town, and the humans. No humans were to hunt vampires, and no vampire was to harm humans.
In order to fulfill the needs of the vampires in the town, she established a bar underground, in the old subway station and tunnels. She called it The Blood Bar. In a small town like hers, there was more than enough blood in the bloodbanks, and some humans freely donated blood to keep things peaceful.
Along with establishing The Blood Bar, she came up with ways that vampires could lead normal lives. She had special houses built above ground, having two levels to it, so that the vampire who owns the house could hang out in the under part of the house during the day, and the same in the surface part of the house at night.
Of course, her projects called for alot of money, so she couldn't just give things away. She found night jobs for the vampires, letting them have a way to earn their living, and help her with the costs of keeping everyone safe and situated. Meanwhile, for those vampires just arriving in town, and are willing to live under the treaty, she allows them to live in the subway tunnels, having made some of the tunnels into rooms with a comfortable bed to sleep on. Everything else they needed could be found in the bar.
But there are some vampires that dispise the treaty, believing the vampires who live under it were weak. They would do anything to make the humans, as well as vampires, in the town pay for the disgrace of the vampire kind. And they want the 'Hunter' who devised the treaty to pay severely.
