Been lucky so far for me. I got a jasper limited resident evil edition 360. So far it's been good.
I keep it in a cool room and usually install the games to the HD. That saves the disc drive and produces less heat. So far things have been going well and no problems for 1 yr now and continuing.

Haha, I lost my hard drive. My brother snatched it for his 360 (which was an arcade). It didn't bother me much at the time because it technically belonged to both of us, and I hadn't really been playing my 360 much.

I don't know how I'd be ablt to play without a HD. Installing a game to HD helps so much!

It doesn't bother me too much. I don't even play my 360 too often anyway. Sadly, new hard drives seem a bit overpriced. I'm assuming it would not let me install to an external. I am also assuming I have to get an official (overpriced, but what else is to be expected from MS) 360 hard drive.
ya the hard drives are way over priced. Most people are better off getting a JTAG xbox, which at least can hold 1-2TB hard drives.
I've seen 1-2 TB HD's cheaper than a 250 xbox HD LOL.
Unlike Nintendo, xbox doesn't have many accessories to sell, so this is one of them i suppose.

Well ya not for live. But most people have 2 xbox 360's. I think it's good to JTAG one so you can have one for offline play. Plus JTAG's last longer and have less wear and tear.. especially if you install a 1-2 TB drive. Then you can save all the games to the HD and play off it. No need for discs or use them for online play with the other xbox.
